Mall Monday... at the Park!

We decided to take advantage of the great weather and head to a park instead of the mall for our Monday playdate. It's also Spring Break so the mall was likely to be crowded with kids who are too big and pushy to be in the kids area. We had lots of sunshine, a little wind, and nice cool temps. It was perfect. We packed a lunch and had a picnic (though I think I was a little lazy in the lunch I packed. Ours was more like a snack but it did the job.) Megan had the most fun playing in the sand. We learned after our first trip to this park that we need to bring shovels and buckets and that we would have to share them with other kids. Megan did a great job sharing today. I was very proud of her!! She used to just kind of sit back and watch other kids play and she wouldn't say a thing if they took her toys. Now, she was playing right along side another girl, sharing the same bucket and shovel!! It was sweet. Emmy wasn't sure she was happy about not taking a morning nap. She had fun crawling around and cruising along the benches. She had the most fun when she was in the swing ... duh ... that girl loves to swing. We were out there for about two and a half hours. I sure was ready for a nap but Megan had other ideas. She's snuggled up on the sofa having some Teddy grahams and watching a Pooh video. Quiet time is quiet time I suppose.

The girls got in to their Kids Day Out program at our church. I am so excited!! They'll be going Wednesdays and Fridays in the fall from 9:00 - 2:00. I have heard it's a good program and I liked it when I took the tour last month. I'm excited about buying their backpacks, lunch boxes and nap mats!! I'm also a little sad (already) thinking about leaving them somewhere. My little girlies!! Growing up so fast.
So ... if you want to meet me for lunch on a Wednesday or a Friday in October ... let me know! ;)
