Best night so far! Matthew went to bed at 9:45 but he fussed a while times so I thought I was in for a rough night. He ate at 7:00 so we topped off the tank at 9:00 before putting him to bed. He was WIDE AWAKE. James wakes me up just before 3 worried that something is wrong. I got mad that he woke me up and told him he was nuts ... Then checked on Matthew to be sure.

Next thing I know, it is 4:45 am!!

Now my dilemma is whether or not I should go back to sleep when he finishes this bottle. My tummy is telling me it is breakfast time.

Potty Training

If you know me, you know I expect my kids to potty train themselves. It worked with Megan. So far with Em ... Massive FAIL!!

She had a horrible dirty diaper this morning. Since she was rashy from it, I put her in big girl panties.

She sat on the potty. Nothing. Next thing I know there is a big puddle on the floor by Matthew's crib.

Peeing on Matthew's floor: honest potty mistake or marking her territory?

Jury's still out.

Matthew Pictures

I just looked back after posting his One Month pic that I haven't posted any pics of Matthew since he came home. So here are some more for you!!

All 3 of my beautiful babies!

Matthew's first walk to the park!
I had to put the blanket down because the stroller seat was so gross! I don't think it had been cleaned since Megan used it as an only child.  Yes, that was a long long time ago!

Daddy and the girls came to the park too!

2 Weeks Old!

Daddy and Matthew in their matchy-matchy striped shirts!

You say "tummy time" ... I say "nap time".

More nap time!

"Mom, get this ridiculous looking green froggy towel off me!!"

James wonders why his back hurts ...

Father's Day with the girlies!

Hanging out in his new bouncy chair.
We had a pink flowery one for the girls so Matthew got a new one.  Funny thing about bouncy chairs, apparently the pink flowery one is more comfy because he spends much more time in it than his manly brown monkey chair.

One Month Pics

I just realized I haven't posted an updated pic of Matthew!!  Here is his one month picture ... even though he will be two months old in 3 days.  I need to get the pics off the camera onto the computer and that takes time. So enjoy this updated (yet already outdated) photo of The Boy!

I thought I was behind the game with the chair because this pic was actually taken about a week late but the girls' One Month pics weren't taken in their chairs!!  So really, Mr. Baby #3, I'm ahead of the game on something!  I want that on record!  WOOT WOOT!

Megan at 1 Month - wearing her first ever 3 Month size outfit!!

Emily at 1 Month - Still in the NICU and weighing only 4 lbs 15.2 oz.
Coincidentally, this is the day we bathed her for the first time.

Really, I got nothing, but I haven't posted I a month so I thought I should check in!

I took Matthew to the doc last week because he was exhibiting symptoms of reflux. We started him on Zantac and he seems to be doing better. Zantac never helped with the girls so it has been a pleasant surprise. He was 7 weeks old at that visit (7 wks and 1 day to be exact) and he weighed in at 11 lbs 14 oz! I was curious and looked back to see what the girls weighed around 7 weeks to 2 months. Megan weighed 11 lbs 14 oz at her 2 month visit (which was on her exact 2 month "birthday"). At 7 weeks Emily had only been home for a few days and still weighed less than 6 lbs. So, yes, Matthew is our biggest baby, to date! He is starting to notice toys and is trying to smile but no big gummy grins yet. He is still sleeping in our room and I have no idea when he will move out. He is still spitting up and choking in the middle of the night and that makes me nervous. He only wakes once in the night to eat but he wakes more often than that and I have to give him his pacifier or reswaddle him to get a little more sleep. I am ready for him to sleep through the night and I know it will happen some day. I'm just happy to be getting some sleep right now because for he first 5 weeks I was getting very little sleep. He was up every 2 hours or so. We had to wake the girls up to feed them whe we first brought them home. Matthew doesn't like to miss a meal. :)

The girls are adjusting well to having a baby in the house. Emmy doesn't quite grasp the "be gentle" concept yet and Megan doesn't like waiting for stuff if we are busy with Matthew. I think they're happy to have me back after being on modified activity and post-surgery. I'm healed and am back normal, for the most part, and can actually pick them up again. I still have some pain and numbness at my incision site but that's normal. I have occasional back spasms too but nothing like the first 2 weeks I was home. At my 6 week appointment I had lost all but 1 pound of my pregnancy weight. Unfortunately my body shape hasn't gone back to pre pregnancy shape and none of my clothes fit. They're either too big or too small! How the Hell does that happen? How did I skip a size in my wardrobe? That's just nonsense!!

Emmy is just over 2.5 and we haven't had any sort of potty training readiness yet. She likes sitting on the potty but with her diaper ON. I know I need to get going but she really just doesn't seem ready. She is getting her "big girl" bed in a couple weeks and I hope to get rid of the pacifiers then. Don't know how that will work but it is definitely time. I don't know if I should admit this but ... Emily can spell her name and I didnt teach her! Obviously she learned that in school and I didn't even know she could do it until just a couple weeks ago. Over the weekend, I sat with her and wrote letters and asked her what they were and she identified about 98% correctly!! She's a smartie and I didn't even know it!

Megan is doing great. He vocabulary is increasing every day (so yeah, I'm watching what I say a little more). She makes me laugh with some of the things she's says out of the blue sometime. I asked her for two empty buckets and she replied, "coming right up!". She also told James, "you're making me upset!" when he was teasing her the other night.

We took them to see Cars 2 a couple weekends ago while my mom stayed with Matthew. The did really well in the theater even though the movie was a little over their heads. They got squirmy toward the end but were quiet and sat still through almost the whole thing. That's quite an accomplishment because it was a very long movie, for a kids movie. I loved the movie, b the way. Very different than the first but very entertaining.

It's almost 11 and I really need to go to bed. Everybody else is asleep and I was enjoying the peace and quiet but now I'm just tired. Night night everybody!

Oh - I typed this on my iPad so you'll just have to get over the typos and autocorrects!
