Another Perfect Score

Megan had her 4 month check up today and everything looks good. She weighs in at a solid 15 lbs. 4 oz. (90th percentile) and she is 25.5 inches (97th percentile)!! James is so proud of his tall daughter and I am convinced she'll be taller than me soon ... probably when we're walking to that first day of Kindergarten!! ;-) My poor baby got 4 shots but doesn't really seem to be affected by them so far (fingers crossed). We went straight from the doc to the mall where we had lunch at Chili's. mmmmmm. I have fallen in love with their Southwestern Cobb Salad, minus the corn relish. We had a gift card so we were planning to have a free lunch but they were having problems with their computers ... so the manager comped our meal since she couldn't run the card. WOW! We really got a free meal!! Then we shopped. We had to buy Megan a gift for her good A+ report card, right? Dillard's was having a great sale on some of their men's Polo stuff (75% off original price plus extra 30% off!!!) and if you know my husband you know he's a label-slut and pretty much lives in Polo. Somehow I am the only one who ended up without a purchase today. hmmmm ... I'll have to figure out what went wrong there. I did get a lemonade from Chick Fil A. yum-o! On the way home from the mall we stopped at Kroger and picked up some yummy rice cereal for Megan. We were so excited about it but I'm not too sure what she was thinking. Megan hit another milestone this weekend too! She finally moved upstairs to her own room. Last night was her first night in her crib and she slept wonderfully. Well, she woke up at 5:30 which is about 45 minutes earlier than she has been waking up but it worked out well since we had the doc appointment today. We had been waiting for her to consistently sleep through the night before moving her upstairs and she has been for a couple weeks now, with a few crazy nights mixed in, so we figured it was time. Besides, we (James) put all that work into her room so somebody needed to use it!!
Just when I thought this day couldn't get better ... I find out the ASTROS are on TV tonight. Yes, I'm sad there's no Craig Biggio but I am wearing my Biggio jersey anyhow. Since I haven't washed it ... ever ... it must need some Megan spit-up!! Happy Baseball Season everyone!
Here's Meg in a fancy Polo shirt she might not have ever worn if it wasn't cold outside today. Probably the last cold day we'll have until fall and she'll be huge by then! This is the only picture we got before she spit up all over it.

Here's Megan getting ready for her cereal!! She actually fell asleep after this picture was taken so I guess she wasn't as excited as mommy!!

OK - We're in business. We're eating yummy papier-mache mush. She actually did pretty well with the spoon for her first time. I was impressed. I think maybe taking medication every day for a month really helped her figure out what to do with something other than a bottle.

Oh, and by the way, so far the cereal has done nothing to curb the spitting up. She's been spitting all over me since she finished her meal. It sure will be interesting when we start colored foods!

Congrats on the good baby checkup. Next time you go shopping, you'll be able to justify your TWO purchases! How exciting to be starting rice cereal!

Congratulations to Megan on her checkup! With 'grades' like that she will be ready for Aggieland in no time!! ;-) Adorable little Polo shirt!!
I'm telling you- you gotta try the Gripe Water! I will send you a bottle if you can't find it there, we have a place here that sells it. (now watch, as much as I am touting it- it probably won't work for you!!) ;-)

Great check up, good 'scores' all around!
Fun stuff moving on to rice cereal! Don't worry, they get ALL TOO EXCITED about it soon enough, and then it gets 'really' fun!
And I completely agree with Katy...you owe yourself a purchase next time you are out!
