Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I can't believe it is already Turkey Day. When I first found out I was pregnant back in April I really never thought this time of year would come. It seemed so far away. To be honest, that was probably mostly due to the fact that I knew I had 9 months of NO BOOZE ahead of me. Then that grew into anticipation for what was to come. Then we found out we were having a little girl and, more honesty here, that idea took some getting used to. Let's face it, I've never really been much of a girly-girl so the idea of having a little princess of my own was a little befuddling. Then we decorated the nursery. James is so wonderful and did an awesome job painting walls and hanging curtains while I sat back and watched. It looks so beautiful and I love it!! We were anxious to register and get the house ready for baby. I think the poor dog was wondering what all the commotion was about. Next came the showers our friends and co-workers so generously hosted for us (thank you!) and the baby gear started to take over our house and our lives. We started stocking up on diapers, toys, and clothes ... oh so many clothes ... for our little Megan. We've had some ups and downs. Some unexpected bad news followed by some great news. A crazy diet and not so great hospital food. I just can't believe the time is here. I can't believe we'll be welcoming our little baby girl in just a little while. Things may not be going as planned for us but we are adjusting to that. I quit my job to take time to get the house ready and do baby laundry and set up all her gear but ended up in the hospital instead so poor James has been taking care of everything. He really seems to be enjoying himself though and he has been wonderful keeping me updated with pictures. We dreamed of the typical labor and delivery where we rush to the hospital together in excitement (panic) but face it, how often does that really happen these days? We are very thankful for many things this year but I think my docs are near the top my list. If they weren't keeping such a close eye on me and making me stay off my feet in the hospital I don't even want to imagine what might happen. I am very thankful that my mom is so close by and has been helping us gather last minute baby gear even though she's currently living in a box on wheels and has been so busy with her upcoming move. I am thankful that I have the best husband in the world who has been taking such wonderful care of me and is trying his hardest to keep me involved in everything he's doing at home. Most of all, I know we are both thankful for this little bundle of joy (and insanity) on the way and we can't wait.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey Day!

I hope the Aggies have a wonderful day after Turkey Day. WHOOP!
