Excitement

I swear ... if it's not one thing it's another. Everything is OK with baby Megan BUT we did spend the night in the hospital Friday night. Actually, I'm still in my hospital bed awaiting breakfast but I figured there was no better way to spend my time. I had an ultrasound yesterday, my typical Friday appointment, and everything looked great with the baby but my amniotic fluid levels were pretty low. Some doctors consider 10-20 normal and some consider 12-20 normal and my level measured around 8 yesterday morning. A level of 5 would have meant induction so I'm happy I wasn't that low!! SO ... they wheeled me over to the hospital and set up an IV (which they finally got on the second try - OUCH!!). They did another ultrasound and estimated my fluid levels to be about 10+ so as soon as they hook me up to the monitor again after breakfast this morning I should be able to get out of here. My doc promised I would be out of here in time to see the Aggie game which is on at 11:30. That was before she found out I was having contractions. I haven't seen her since that became an issue yesterday afternoon. I had a few pretty strong and relatively frequent contractions yesterday. They appeared to be BH (fake) but they were more frequent than your typical BH contractions but at least they would go away when I rolled over to my side. I'm a little worried I won't be able to sit up for the rest of this pregnancy if I have to avoid contractions!! YIKES!

I'll keep you updated when I get discharged. Let me tell you though ... trying to sleep in a hospital when you're on IV fluids really sucks. I'm well hydrated and every time I had to get up and go to the bathroom I had to unplug the damn machine and take it with me. I sent James home. It didn't make any sense for him to stay if I was just going to sleep (or try to) all night long. Everything was OK. I'm just here for observations. Not having the baby just yet! Besides, we did have the dog at home that needed someone there. :-)
