I just wanted to post a quick update on Emily. I never have any time because I like to sleep when I can.
Emily's 6 month appointment was Tuesday. She is now in the 25-50% for weight, 25% for height and 90% for head. Again, I have these big headed children. We'll blame that trait on James. ;-) Those numbers are for her actual age so she's up against termers instead of 30-weekers. She really is growing and you can see the spike on the growth chart. Hopefully she'll slow down soon or she'll send us to the poor house because of her 32-40 ounce a day formula habit. We started Rice Cereal last night and she was NOT a fan. Did even try it tonight. She was in no mood to be force fed paste so well give it another go tomorrow. She doesn't like getting her shots. It never seemed to bother Megan at all, afterwards anyhow, but Emily was screaming mad all evening after her appointment. No fever or anything but I think her little chunky thighs were sore. Poor girlie. All in all the good doc was extremely pleased with Emily's progress.
She had to endure more torture today at the hands of the hematologist. Her blood work came back normal, everything is rising the way it should for a baby her age, so he said we have "graduated from the pediatric hematologist". That was such great news to hear. Hopefully as time passes we will drop all the extra docs and just have her pedi. I found myself tearing up as we left Texas Oncology today. So happy (and hopeful) that we don't have to go back.
I had my 2 hour follow up Glucose Tolerance Test today. It sucked. They had to stick me 6 times and dig around in my arm for veins to draw the 3 vials of blood they needed. Won't have the results for a little while but I throwing up a prayer that I'm not diabetic. I poked my finger when I got in the car and the number was good so I'm just hoping all news will be good.
We had a great time in Ft Worth for the 4th. It was a great first vacation as a family of 4. My advice to anyone traveling with small kiddos, find an Embassy Suites because I don't think we could have done it without the two separate rooms. I have lots of pics to post - at another time. Megan had a great time at the petting zoo at the Stockyards and we hit the FW Zoo on Sunday. FW Zoo totally rocks and I can't wait to go back. When it's cooler outside. And less humid. And the girls are a little older. Megan got to ride the carousel and we rode the train, both of which she absolutely loved. Emily, well she slept most of the time but that was just fine with us. Babies are easier to handle when they're sleeping, right?
I promise to add the pics soon. I'm hoping to get a routine going for Miss Emmers soon so maybe I can get just a smidgen of free time in the afternoons for a little computer time.
Hope everyone had a happy 4th!
