Just an update ...

I was getting ready to head to bed when it started raining. I'm exhausted and really could use some sleep but I figured it was pointless to try with the thunder and lightening ... and my crazy dog. I wouldn't get any sleep anyhow so I figured it was a good time to post.

Megan had her one year appointment today with the doc. She got another A+, which just makes us so proud!! Here are her stats:

Weight: 24 lbs. 12 oz. 90-95%
Height: 31.8 inches >97% off the charts!
Head: 19 inches >97% off the charts!

At her last appointment the doc mentioned something about her big noggin but this time around he seemed OK. You could see on the growth chart that it was starting to even out with the rest of her body. She is definitely my big-headed, tall, skinny girl. I have been thinking that she looks really skinny to me so I was happy to see that her weight is still above the 90th percentile so it's not that far off. She got three shots today. She had the meningitis one, her first round of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and her flu shot (yes, late in the season but better late than never, right James? ahem ... get your shot!). They were out of the chicken pox vaccine so I'll either take her back in a month to get it or she'll just have to get it when she goes for her 15 month check up. OH ... which by the way is scheduled for Monday, March 9 and I am due Friday, March 13 so I wonder how that's all going to work out! ha ha ha! She cried when she got the shots. More than she did last time around, which broke my heart, but she was still my little super trooper. She even tolerated a shopping trip afterwards to Old Navy and DSW!! I bought myself a maternity sweater coat at Old Navy for $18!! WOW! Megan got a coat too. I figured if we have any snow this winter I would like her to have an actual coat to wear outside. Old Navy had all their outerwear 50% off so I picked a great time to go. We left a trail of Cheerios through the store so I'm sure they were happy about that. Then we walked down to DSW and I actually found a pair of comfortable black shoes that fit my big fat pregnant swollen feet. I have been searching for something like that since I was about halfway through my pregnancy with Megan. Stupid swollen feet. I think it helps that my foot isn't quite as swollen as it was last time around. I guess that has something to do with the fact that I got my stress fracture fixed. :-)

And the rain keeps coming. Sleep. Sure could use some sleep. I guess we needed some rain. Seriously, thunder storms in December? Isn't that a little odd? I would be much happier if it were snowing outside. At least then it would be quiet ...

Glad to hear Megan's appointment went so well! Sounds like she will be nice and tall- tall chicks rock! (speaking from experience, here! hee hee ;-) :-)
Yeah...it will be hard for a little while trying to figure out how to go places with 2, especially a newborn, but later you will realize that having one strapped into a little carrier thing is actually the easiest way to take 2 kids anywhere! It gets harder the older they get and the more they want to run around! :-p
It finally started snowing here yesterday...still snowing!! It is pretty but it makes me want to sit home with some cocoa and be a bum! Errands be damned!

Great Job Megan! I hate when they have to get shots, the crying just sends a dagger into your heart. I hear you about the swollen feet and needing shoes. I bought a pair (ugly as they were), they were the slip on clog type in the extra wide width. They were no fashion statement, but they did the job when I had to finally quit wearing flip-flops! You are going to be one busy Momma with 2 little kiddos, but you will find a way to make it work, I'm sure.

Getting used to toting around 2 takes some getting used to for sure, but within a few months, you'll wonder what you did for fun and entertainment with just 1! When the older one goes to stay with Gradmommmy you'll be thinking WOW, the house is quiet and almost boring with just one baby around. It's just like when you think back to what ever did we do with our time before we had a child. Sleep all the time of course, but wasn't that a little boring??? Maybe?

Yay for Megan, she's doing great! It does sound like she is going to be tall!
Great deals at Old Navy, you go girl! And someday that cheerio trail may save your life! lol
