I know I said I wasn't going to share pictures of the new nursery until it was finished but here they are. We don't have any furniture yet, we haven't even ordered it, so we have a long way to go. We do have all the bedding and some other things to put in the room but nothing else goes up until we get the furniture. She's getting the same furniture that Megan has, just maybe different pieces of it. The walls are BRIGHT but the bedding is plain so it should tone the room down a bit.
Here is the main wall.
The crib will go here.

The other walls all have a bright pink stripe with a white border.
The main color of the other walls is Barely Pink and it is barely pink.
The ceiling is white.
The dresser/changer will go on the wall to the right.

The room's only window.
There is a white sheer with pink polk-a-dots in addition to the pink curtain.
The finial has a pink flower on it.
This is the wall with the dresser/changer.

Her sink area leading to the bathroom is green, just like Megan's.
I need to take a pic of the bright blue fishy bathroom to share!

This was just a good shot of the stripe going around the rest of the room.
We might put a chest of drawers here or I might actually get my glider this time.

We plan to hang things inside the pink stripe to break it up a bit. On one wall, her name will go in the stripe. On the wall in the last picture, I have some white shadow boxes with bright pink daisies in them to hang.
Here is the bedding.
Hers is the bright pink instead of the pale pink.
Her sheets are white with bright pink polk-a-dots.

I'm sure I will share more pics when the room is complete but that won't be until at least January. Please don't think we're freaks! We had so much fun coming up with the design and we really like the way it turned out. It is really bright pink, the whole room sort of has a glow, but we're confident furniture and wall decor will tone it down a bit. A great place to go if you're trying to design a room is the "rate my space" section on HGTV's website. There were a few nurseries with squares on the wall so we just picked our colors and made it work on our wall. Poor James is an absolute saint to put up with me. He spent many hours on that room: the math, the tape, the painting, and then there was a ton of touching up and cleaning up to do. Yes, I actually helped with a little of the painting and a lot of the touching up but couldn't take the fumes for too long, or stand on a ladder, so it was mostly James.

LOVE THE PINKNESS!!!
Very very cute. Do you ever worry you're having a boy?
stacy
I love it!!! Can James come decorate my nursery when I have a girl?
I do worry a little that it might turn out to be a boy but I have had 3 ultrasounds so far (2 by the perinatologist) that all show girl ... and I will have many many many more thanks to my gestational diabetes, hypothyroid, and my last pregnancy's unexplained low fluid. See, you just have to have a list of medical issues to get more pictures of your baby! :-) So we would have plenty of time to change all the pinks to blues if they see something they didn't see before ... God help James if that happens!!
looks fantastic! love the paint job!
Wow Jenny, it looks awesome! Your nurseries have to be the cutest I have ever seen- you are so creative! :-)
