I'm up to my eyeballs in plans! I have Thanksgiving to think about and Megan's first birthday to really stress about not to mention the new baby and everything that comes with adding another person to this house. I went to the party store today to find invites and decorations for Megan's party but the store still had all their Halloween crap up and they had absolutely nothing for a 1st Birthday Party. It was an absolute waste of time, which really pissed me off. Before all that, though, James' birthday is this Saturday! He'll be the big 35!! I haven't bought his gift yet and really don't know what I should get him but I did get the stuff to make his cake. You know, they have this 'reduced sugar' cake mix now but it has the same carbs as the regular one so I just bought the regular one. I did buy the 'reduced sugar' frosting though because it had a much lower carb count. I'll let you know if it is any good. We have a baby shower to go to Saturday night but we don't have a babysitter since Grandma is out of town so I don't know if we're going to make it. It's not really one of those kid-friendly parties. Grammy could babysit but I don't think she'll drive herself over here and that's a pain ...
With everything going on, I have made the executive decision to limit Thanksgiving this year. I can't take a house FULL of people so it will just be a small group. I really hope we don't make MIL too mad but we're not including BIL/SIL and Meg's cousins this year. Now that MIL lives up here, they don't have to come over here for the holiday to spend time with her as they have in the past. With Megan's birthday just two days after Thanksgiving (and the big football game that night) I really can't be bothered to cook for twice as many people. Nevermind having kids running around and other people to entertain while James falls asleep on the sofa upstairs. I'm not up for entertaining so I need to save it all for Megan's party.
Now that I sound like a total bitch ... I read that at this point in pregnancy the progesterone level is decreasing and the estrogen level starts to increase. I think that means Psycho Pregnant Chick is about to rear her ugly head. I have been so impatient and irritable lately. I may just be tired and it's harder to move around because I'm so HUGE (and it's been so damn hot here) or I can just blame it all on the estrogen and chalk it up to pregnancy hormones. Yeah, that's the ticket!!
It's 10:00. It doesn't look like my fantasy football team is going to win tonight - thanks a lot Steelers. I think I'll go to bed, if I can get up off the sofa. I think I'll forget about the dishes and the toys and just let the house look like a wreck for one more day. Yes, James, I emptied the dishwasher and did the dinner dishes from last night. I'm not going to do tonight's dishes ... and Megan will enjoy the easy access to her toys tomorrow morning.
pssst ... I added a link to my new pictures page. I found that Shutterfly has "Share Pages" which are really cool and you can blog on them too (I don't plan to) but then random people can order your pictures. I don't know if I'm comfortable with that but I'm going to leave it all posted for now. I uploaded a select few pictures of Megan, from the beginning. Yes, there are hundreds on there now but believe me when I say I didn't upload all the pictures we've taken of her. ha ha ha! You can password protect it, which might be a good idea. Mel, you might want to look into it as an alternative to your pics blog and the whole Blogger-Picasa debacle. I'm sure Shutterfly will want to sell us prints in order to keep the service "free" but I usually buy prints for scrapbooks (that will never be made) anyways.
DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!
If you don't vote, you don't get to complain for the next 4 years.

I know how you feel- it is SUCH a busy time of year with fall b-days (both my kids!), Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, ETC. ETC. ETC!!! At least it is all fun stuff though! ;-) Try not to stress too much about everything- I know that is easier said than done! ;-) My thought- If you are hosting the meal you get to decide who you invite! :-D
I completely agree- everyone needs to get out and VOTE!!!
