New Ticker

Did you notice the new ticker on your way in? ha ha ha! All I can do is laugh about it.

Yes, I know what causes pregnancy. I just didn't think it would happen so soon. I guess my body finally figured out what to do. I had my first ultrasound a week ago and everything looked good, as it should. We were surprised but are very happy. I know it is awful early to spill the beans but it's such a hard secret to keep. As a friend so nicely put it, "No wonder Anheuser-Busch sold to the Dutch. You're not drinking anymore!" Hard for a boozer to hide that she's not drinking. I'm hot ... and tired ... and at times a bit psycho. I am chasing around an 8 month old ... with a stupid broken foot. I'm nauseous ... yet can't really eat anything I want because the diabetes is back full-force already (yep, probably more like Type-2 than Gestational but I won't know that for sure until after the baby is born). On top of all that, it's so damn hot outside I hardly feel human. My mother-in-law is trying to move up here and the purchase of her new house fell through. Everyone is being absolutely stupid about the whole thing and it's SO ANNOYING! I'd like to hear what other people think ... your 73-year-old mother is moving away from the only home she's known. Do you want her in a 1.) random townhome community where people go to work all day ... or 2.) a neighborhood for 55+ year old people, most of whom are retired ? OR how about a place with stairs? What do you think about that? I'm 33 and I hate my stairs (granted, see above complaints) however, can you imagine a staircase for a 73 year old woman? Yes, she can manage stairs no problem now but why choose to manage stairs if you don't have to? And how will she be in 5 years? in 10 years?

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I fired off a nasty email (hence, the psycho part) to the salesman at the neighborhood where the purchase has fallen through and he called me out on it. He emailed me his phone number so I left him a message today and am anxiously awaiting his phone call. I half expect to hear that MIL and BIL/SIL and realtor backed out rather than Pulte causing problems ... and I will go absolutely ape-shit if that's the case.

OK - aside from all that, things are good. We're so happy to be having another, even thought Megan will only be about 15 months when he or she is born. James is so funny saying he wants another girl. He only wanted to have boys until Megan came into our lives. I would LOVE to have a boy but it definitely would be more economical to have another girl. hee hee! I'm only afraid they wouldn't have separate identities, separate activities and friends, being so close in age (only one grade apart in school) and I'm sure I'll dress them the same because it would make shopping so much easier. :-)

Well, I think the Moo is up from her nap so I better go!

****************edited to add more complaining *************** I just have to vent!!!
OK, so I talked to the salesman at the community where MIL's new home sale fell through. The whole thing is screwball and I can't believe it. I liked the salesman and after talking to both him and MILs realtor I'm lead to believe MILs realtor (and the other people MIL is taking advice from) are all just nutty.
Here's the whole F-ing story. MIL freaking about moving up here. Kept calling James and asking "what this" and "how that" and James, not being a realtor and all, didn't have answers. MIL freaked and said she would do it all herself and has since NOT EVEN SPOKEN ONE WORD to James about the process. We found out she was going to buy the house through the realtor and for some reason MIL was upset we weren't "surprised!" by the realtor calling us to set up a showing for the house MIL is buying. Uhhhh ... she's WHAT? OK - so fast forward. MIL is selling her house in Houston to a friend. That sale is all wonky because the friend didn't want to spend money on a title company and MIL didn't want to spend money on a realtor so she agreed to a price and a "closing" at a lawyer. All wonky and stupid. Now they're ready to take possession and MIL has no place to live. right. business with friends. SO ... when I call the realtor today she's just doing the final walk through on the town home that MIL is closing on next Monday. OH - but per said realtor they only made the decision today. Right. On the same day the final walk through is being done. riiiiiggghhht. I am SOOOOO irritated. OK - MIL is buying a house and moving up here on Sunday night. How much you wanna bet if we hear from her tonight? Hey Slim ... meet None ... not gonna happen. The kicker is this place is a new Town home community. Only a few units have been sold and there are a lot more available. She'll be one of the first residents to live there. Sound like a good place to make friends for a woman who is leaving the only home she's ever known? Probably not. OH - and apparently it's a two story because that's what she wanted all along. Right. 73 years old in a two story home. I'm just the bitchy, psycho, hormonal daughter in law that pointed out the obvious ... and was ignored. Actually, everything we have suggested has been outright ignored so I don't know why I'm surprised. It's a whole stupid thing. Frankly, I'm glad it's going to be done and I can't wait until the next time MIL starts in asking "what's wrong with james" because I'm going to tell her she's the problem. I already did once. I went off. Probably not the best and apparently it didn't change anything but I am so DONE!!! BTW ... wouldn't you think a good realtor would find out where the nearest Catholic parish is for a Catholic client? Oh, she can just drive over to your church or this other one that's a straight shot down this road (yeah, 18 miles away). So I figured there should be one closer to her community, right? Yeah, 2 miles north of her new house. Literally up the road. Nobody even thought to look it up. Good thing I went psycho on the last builder or I never would have called the realtor and I never would have even known MIL was buying a stupid two story random town home in a stupid random middle of nowhere community and moving up here this weekend.

Congratulations, Jenny!!! I think it is WONDERFUL News!!! YAY! :-D Personally I think having 2 Girls is the best, I absolutely love it!! It makes things SO much easier- they share everything from clothes to toys, a room, etc etc. and we didn't have to start all over when Becca was born, we knew 'girl.' We are total girl-parents! :-D

Okay, first...CONGRATULATIONS! WOW!!! It's funny after you have your first kid, it really doesn't matter what comes next, because it's would be SOO economical and fun to have another of same gender...but yet, it would be different and new to have the other...you just can't 'lose' when it comes to babies!!!! CONGRATS!
Sorry to hear about all the mess with your MIL! I hope it all comes through okay in the end!
