We came home from the hospital Saturday. It was SOOOOOOOOO good to get out of that hospital after so long. We weren't discharged until after 5:00 so it was dark for our drive home but it was so good to be out of there. I will share the details later. I know I probably said that before but I know I need to write it all down somewhere before I forget it all.
Megan is a little jaundiced - actually moderately jaundiced - so we had to go back to the hospital today after her first pediatrician visit to have yet another heel poke. My poor little girl. And we go back tomorrow for another to see if here bilirubin level is going up or down. She also has lost more weight since we left the hospital. We're now at 6 lbs 6 oz, which is right at 10% weight loss but the doc wasn't too concerned. We had some problems getting her to latch on so we're supplementing with formula and the doc was happy to know we weren't being crazy breastfeeding nazi parents and refusing the idea of formula. A girl's gotta eat, especially to get rid of this yellow color. The doc called her a pumpkin today.
Anyways - just wanted to share some more pics. Aside from sleep deprivation we're doing OK. Not bad for two people who don't have a clue about babies. :-)
Here's Megan on her way home Saturday!
Showing off her fancy pink bandage after her heel prick today! What a trooper!
Daddy and his girls. Yes, the dog is still our baby too!

Hey Jenny,
Congrats on the little one. Glad to see things are going well for you.
Take care,
Suzanne
She's so cute! I am glad to hear that everything is going great! Call me when you can, I want to hear all about it! :-)
So cute! We went through the same struggles with Riley, with bilirubin tests, weight loss, etc. He would latch on, just decided that was his favorite position to sleep in, not eat in. It was a tough first few weeks as new parents, but I think it taught me how strong and resilient kids are...and how natural parenting actually comes! You guys are doing wonderful, she's an angel!
Very cute.... not at all like a pumpkin!
