Megan got another A+ at the doc today!! Everything is starting to even out with her percentages. She is now 9 pounds, 21 inches, with a 14.5 inch head circumference. All those measurements are around the 75th percentile. She is gaining weight pretty fast and is quickly becoming such a cute little chunky monkey!! She got her first of a million shots today with her second round of Hep B. I had to step out of the room while James held her for the nurse. Poor baby! It was horrible!! Now she has a cute little tweety bandaid on her thigh, and really couldn't care less. Afterwards, we went to the bank and opened her savings account. I'm sure she'll want to use the money to buy a pony but hopefully she'll find a better use for it. Maybe a trip to Europe someday ... with her mommy!
I'm so happy to have my house back to myself. There's a lot to do but I just want to relax. Having someone here to "help" really didn't help much. I felt like I couldn't do anything and that I had to do everything. Does that make sense? I had no naps during the last week and I just don't get much sleep when it comes 4 hours at a time. Then it takes me a while to unwind after Megan goes back to sleep so I find myself washing bottles or something stupid like that. It's better than getting all snuggly under the covers just to have her start fussing so I have to get right back up again - over and over and over.
I really love this mom thing. It's worth the sleep deprivation and sometimes being covered by poop and pee and spit up. It's not so bad. I also love watching James with his baby girl too. It's just still all so incredible.
