What's Up?

What have we been doing this summer? The month of July has been a busy one!! Starting with our vacation (yes, pictures will be posted sometime ...) but we've kept busy at home too. Unfortunately we've all had a case of the crud this month. All of us, except James! How does he do that? Who knows! But even with the crud and strange rashes, etc., we've had a good summer.

We cleaned the floor.

Consumed MANY Popsicles!
YUM-O!

We went roller skating again!!
The second time was much better than the first! I was able to go and stop and turn around and even skate backwards! I rocked the rink in the 80s! Apparently I still have it!

Emmy brought a toy this time too!

We've done zillions of loads of laundry together!

Shared cereal with the dog ...

Don't say the words "play-doh" out loud around this one.

We've even done some pre-school roll-playing. Meet my little Dora.

The Emster discovered spaghetti.

She also discovered Capri Sun - and how to use a straw.

We found this neat little beach park on the lake a few minutes from the house. I never knew it was there and I wasn't too sure what to expect because I'm not a "lake swimmer". Not a fan of swimming with the fishies and slimy rocks. YUCK! The town trucked in sand, built some restrooms and concessions and VOILA!! A little piece of beach close to home. We'll go again someday. Just as soon as I get over the sand. So. Much. Sand. EVERYWHERE.

This is a picture of Megan swiping Em's first ever Capri Sun!
I guess she can pretend to be Dora and Swiper!!

Tomorrow we plan to discover the glorious sport of soccer!! WOOHOO! Megan is supposed to have her last dance class tomorrow, and we might go after soccer, but last week she LOST IT at dance. There was a substitute teacher - uh oh - who apparently was not as skilled in the fine art of toddler separation anxiety management. Poor Megan cried and cried for about 15 minutes of the first 25 minutes of the class. So we left. She said she didn't want to go and I had to bribe her with an M&M to get her into her leotard and tights. I guess I should have seen it coming. This Monday, we'll go to soccer then I'll bring up the idea of dance and get out her shoes ... and if she throws a fit I guess we'll just head home. Nothing like letting a 2.5 year old make the rules!
