Silly Megan Speaks!

Megan loves things in twos (especially cookies) ... but here we're talking about balls. She wanted a ball up in her tree house so she came running shouting "ball!" but then noticed there were two. She HAD to have them both so up she went!! "TWO! TWO!" she says. "Ball! Two! Two!"

Her new thing is acting like the dog. When Kaitlin hops up on the sofa Megan has to go "hop hop" and jump up and down. When she sees Kaitlin sleeping on the floor she says "Dog!" and then closes her eyes and puts her head to the side like she's sleeping. When Kaitlin gets up and moves from her spot on the floor Megan has to go sit in it, again saying "Dog!". She has always laughed when she sees Kaitlin rolling in the grass. Now, she has to do it too!

Just the other day I was beginning to think Megan hadn't learned any new words recently. I was thinking I needed to work on some new ones with her to get her going when she walked up to me, handed me a bottle of bubbles, and said "bubble" clear as day. I have never tried to get her to say that but we do say it a lot when we're playing with the bubbles. I almost fell over. First, the bubbles were up on the high counter so I guess things aren't safe there and second, a new word out of nowhere! WOOHOO! We finally took all the outdoor bubble stuff outside and it keeps her busy for a LONG time.

A side note on "bubble" ... I kept repeating it to keep it fresh in her mind and Emmy started in with "bubba"! I think little Emmers has a few words of her own but that's for another post on another day.
