Halloween!

We had a great Halloween. A first for Emily and the first time out Trick or Treating for Megan. She's wasn't too sure about it but finally warmed up to the idea. She's still wary of strangers so we were just happy she didn't totally freak out. She tried candy for the first time. It's not that we're anti-sweets (seriously, when James is home on the weekends it's all sugar all the time for his little princess!!) it's that we just haven't given her any. Mommy doesn't really like to share candy so I've never offered. :-) She loved her Reese's PB Cup and some MMs. She enjoyed the few licks of her sucker until she started trying to bite it. When it was time for bed, she was sitting upstairs watching the kiddos come to our door in their costumes and was just having a ball! Here are a couple pics of the girls in their costumes. My mom took all the pics and I forgot to get them from her so these are from my phone. I will share more later.

Emily, our little flower.

Megan, our busy little bumble bee!!

After T-or-T-ing we got the girls bathed and in bed then made a mad dash into our closets to get something to wear to a 'grown-up' party that night. We went out to dinner at Outback (not in costume) before the party. Let me tell you, Halloween night is a great night to head out to eat if you want to avoid crowds. The place was empty - and wonderful. Then we went to the party, James in his 60s get up and me in my Dad's old Army shirt. It was kind of a match since we were from the same era I guess. I was comfortable at least and the cap covered up my bad hair day. I couldn't get James to commit to actually going to the party so I didn't spend too much time digging up a costume ... so here's the result.

We had fun. There was a keg and the cops came because the neighbors complained about the noise. I answered the door for the police because everyone else was drunkenly oblivious or outside, so that was fun, but I guess it's a little different when you're 35. You really feel stupid rather than nervous. :-) Another thing that is different when you grow up ... keg beer in plastic cups really isn't all that great.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween and I hope to have more pics of my cuties up soon!
