Megan - 23 Months Old!

Emily - 10 Months Old!

We got a new computer not too long ago and our printer software is not compatible with Windows 7. The printer works but it's an HP Photosmart and I had been using the HP Photo editing stuff to do what little editing I do to pictures AND to be able to print them in different sizes. The new computer did not come with any of that stuff so I was stuck for a while. I finally downloaded Picasa yesterday and it seems to be user friendly and "free" sure was the right price. So I was just having fun yesterday with the text part so that's why Emily's pic has writing on it. Jury's still out on Picasa until I use it more. It takes me a while to get used to this technology stuff and when I have to change something I feel like my brain doesn't quite compute. Now, the printer is saying it can't scan. Probably because it can't load the info from the disk. Great!
I was so proud of myself the other day. I found invitations for Megan's birthday party and had actually worked on them on the computer a little bit. I sat down to finish them and print them, right on schedule, when I discovered they totally suck. The ink doesn't dry. The paper is too glossy but not glossy like photo paper either. I printed the first one yesterday and when I checked on it this morning it was still wet and smeary. I was SO mad. I didn't spend a ton of money on them but the stupid idiots shouldn't make something for people to print at home that doesn't work with your typical home printer. They were cute too. So I was running around trying to find another option today, right around the girls' lunch time so we all know how productive that was. I found a nice little "paper" store and the lady there even gave me a sample of a simple shimmery cardstock to take home but ink doesn't dry on it either. So, if you live nearby and are invited to Megan's party, don't judge me by my invitation. :) And please don't judge me by the tardiness of the invitation either. The good news, the paper store was next to Subway and I haven't had Subway in FOREVER since they don't have drive-thrus. It was YUM-O!
I did get some shopping done today too. I actually bought a new pair of shoes (that aren't Nikes) for the first time in almost a year. I bought my Uggs last January and that was my last new shoe purchase. Any other shoe purchase before then must have been between pregnancies so I definitely deserved some new shoes. They're cute little suede flats and very very comfy. I wanted some boots but figured the flats were more practical and I would get more use of them. Actually, I wanted some of those god-awful ankle booties with heels. They're so ugly they're cute!! But I knew that would lead to a need for a whole new wardrobe and, lets face it, I needed shoes that I can wear with jeans and tee shirts because that's pretty much all I wear. DSW rocks even though I am constantly moving their little stools to one side of the aisle so I can steer the tank stroller through. I had a $20 coupon too! I also hit Old Navy (you should totally take that survey on the receipt if you get one. I saved 10% today because of that!) and found a sweater and jeans and some shirts for the girls. Just what we all needed ... more crap from Old Navy. It's easy and cheap and they have never complained about the trail of goldfish we always leave through the store.
So I really have nothing else to say ... Girls are still napping so I think I'll take advantage of that and finish my laundry. I started Monday and have done 14 loads, the last of which is in the dryer, so I want to get that done before I have to start back up again. Maybe I'll unload the dishwasher (that I ran pretty much just to wash the bottles). Maybe I'll call and yell and the insurance company about the $7.15 bill that nobody seems to be able to figure out ( I am NOT paying it). Maybe I'll pick up the toys and vacuum and look for spit up stains on the carpet that need to be treated. Maybe I'll just sit on the couch and watch some TV.
Which one do you vote for? ;-)
