Emerging ...

I am slowly emerging from the fog. I took a great HUGE step today when I finally got my hair cut. It was one of those things I meant to do before Megan was born but we all know what happened there. The stylist asked me what I wanted done and I just said that it needed to "go away". I told her to cut at least three inches off and other than that I didn't really care what she did. I like how it turned out and I can't wait to see how long it takes me to do it tomorrow morning. I had been going straight from shower to scrunchie in the mornings so shorter hair is definitely a good thing. My walks earlier this week were another step towards coming out of the fog as were my phone conversations with Melissa and Michelle. I'm finally feeling human again and it feels good.

Megan has her first play date set for next Monday! I know it's a little early for her to "play" but it's good for me. It's with a couple of the moms on our street and I can't wait! The girl across the street was born at the end of September so she's only two months older than Megan. I can't wait! I have kind of been going crazy as a SAHM, which is why I ventured to the playground on our last walk in search of other mommies. I'm glad to have other SAHMs around to keep me sane.

I think Megan actually slept through the night last night but we didn't really let her. Her last meal was around 10:30 last night and we all went to bed after that. She didn't wake us up until 5:00 am. James got up and prepared her bottle while she fell back to sleep. He actually got her out of bed before 6:00 so the prepared bottles wouldn't be wasted. She was kinda fussy but not too bad and probably would have slept a little longer. I can only hope she repeats that tomorrow morning, since I've had two margaritas and a couple beers already, but I won't be holding my breath. Don't judge ... that's way less booze than I'm capable of.

We watched "We are Marshall" tonight. It is definitely on top of the feel-good-sports-movie list. I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend to a sports fan.

Trust me- once Megan is crawling, then walking your life as a SAHM will get WAAAAYYY more interesting! ;-) The first months when they don't really do much except need you it can be so draining. Once they are on the move you will be lots busier!! Now when you add a sibling to the mix- then the fun truly begins!!! You just won't believe all the crap they try to get into when there are TWO little curious minds in action!! :-o Glad we had such a nice long talk last week! We will have to do it again soon! :-)

Congrats on getting out and about. I am sure it is nice to meet other SAHM in the neighborhood! The playgroup sounds like fun!

Glad you're getting out and about. When you're ready for someone to poke her in the eye bring her on over here (logan is an expert)!
