My baby girl got another A+ from the doc today!! She weighs in at a whopping 11 lbs. 14 oz. and is 22.8 inches. Both of those measurements are in the 90th percentile. Her head is only 15.8 which is the 75th percentile ... it's a little flat on the back so I guess we need more tummy time to round it out. It was a good visit overall. She has an umbilical hernia ... basically the opening where the cord went into her belly, behind the belly button, isn't all the way closed off so her 'guts' (as the doc so eloquently put it) are coming up through her bellybutton. It isn't really cause for concern as long as it isn't causing her any pain so we just have to keep our eye on it and it should go away on its own.
The bad news for the day ... I got a speeding ticket on my way to the appointment. 78 in a 65. Good thing he didn't clock me a couple seconds sooner because I think I hit 80. The DPS got me on the tollway just after I got on. I haven't been pulled over by the cops since before James and I were even engaged, which was long long ago, so I guess I was due. I'm not really a crazy driver but the lead foot gets the best of me sometimes, especially after I just enter a freeway. Poor Megan was just wailing the whole time and I told the guy we were going to the doc but I guess he didn't have a soft spot in his heart for new mothers and little babies. Or maybe he did and he cited me just to make his point that speeding is dangerous, especially gusty 40+ MPH winds. Oh well. Just something else to get me out of the house someday. Gotta go to the J of P so they can take some money off my hands then to Defensive Driving. Oh Joy!

That's great! Glad she is growing and gaining so well! :-) Hope the umbilicle hernia resolves itself soon!
