Best. Weekend. Ever

We had one really fun, really busy, weekend in April. It all started Friday night with the school Spring Program. The kids walked in and took the "stage", singing songs they learned throughout the school year. The pics below are of Megan's class walking in and of Emmy's class up on the steps. Megan's class was the FROG class this year so that's a frog on her shirt. Emily was a ZEBRA so that's what is on her shirt.  Em is the little blond on the right of the 3 in a row in white tees.  Her bow has pink on it.

Immediately following the program, the school hosted their annual family night. We didn't go to this last year and apparently we were missing out!!  They had two bounce houses, a trackless train, some teachers doing face painting and hot dogs for dinner.  It was a great time and the girls had so much fun running around with their classmates on the playground and in the parking lot.

Saturday we headed out to Dr. Pepper Ballpark, Home of the AA Rangers affiliate the Frisco Roughriders, for a Family Day hosted by the organization for all their sponsors.  Since James was in Marketing at JCP, we scored passes!! We met both Deuce and Daisy, the mascots, but only took pics with Daisy.

They had really big bounce houses and obstacle courses. Megan wasn't so sure about going in this one so she sent Emmy in first.  Check out my little girl climbing up the ladder without any help!!

They also had face painting. We waited in a long line but the girls loved their pretty, sparkly faces.

As we were waiting for face painting, Megan asked if this was "worth a picture".
It was. She's so cute.

Sunday, James and I had one of our "date mornings". These are the only kind of dates we can stay awake for and they're my favorites. We started the morning at the 8:30 am Mass then on to breakfast at a local dive (that has now upgraded with a second, more trendy location) II Brothers Grill. After that, we headed out to Cabela's because, well, we thought life might take us to Sidney, NE where Cabela's HQ is located so we needed to check it out. Luckily, we are not leaving for the middle of nowhere Nebraska but it would have been an adventure. After our stop at Cabela's, we hit Toys R Us. I'm not really sure what we needed there but we bought a backyard playhouse "for Matthew".  Yeah, he really loves it but I think the girls might love it more. After assembly that afternoon, we got the hose and sprinklers and little pool out and played the evening away ...
