I had another appointment with the specialist today and all the news was good. I love good news at doctor appointments. The Boy weighs in at 4 lbs. 2 oz. already. That's about the 75th percentile for 30 weeks and 6 days! Above average is good, if not expected (have you met James?) But he's not too big, only measuring about a week and a half ahead od schedule. Yeah, now they worry that he'll be too big because of the Gestational Diabetes but I don't know why because they're cutting him out of me. He doesn't have to really "fit through" anything, does he? I guess it would be a sign that my blood sugar is out of control and we don't want that.
He checked my cervix FOR THE LAST TIME (via ultrasound) and it is still nice and long with no funneling. He told me I have "graduated from cervical checks" so that was FANTASTIC news!!
Compounding pharmacies are now permitted to continue mixing my injections so that was more good news for me. I won't have to stop them earlier than planned.
Here's the thing ... I must not have an incompetent cervix because it's doing just fine this time around. Or the 17p injections really are doing their intended job and are an absolute miracle. Or Emmy being born at 30 weeks 4 days was a result of my upper respiratory infection OR just a fluke. While I'm happy history isn't repeating itself, I've always wanted a reason and it looks like I'll never have one.
That's right, Emmy was born at 30 weeks 4 days and I am 30 weeks 6 days along now. I have two kids but have only reached this stage of pregnancy once before. :-)
I don't go back to Dr. Z until May, and that's just for a growth scan because of the diabetes. I see Dr. P in a week though and I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of her coming up.
So all is good for another day. With The Boy anyways. Maybe I'll update you about the girls soon.
