December Fun

December was a busy month around here.  That's why I haven't blogged about it.  Yeah, right, that's why.  OH BOY are we busy from November to February with all the birthdays and Christmas.

The girls helped decorate the tree this year. You can see the ornaments are all neatly in a line at their height.  It took us a few days of this before it was finally done. They had to dress for the occasion too.

The girls were both in their Christmas program at school this year. Emmy's class didn't participate last year because they were too young. It was fun to see them both up on stage, singing.

We spent one very cold night out at Frisco's Christmas in the Square. The kids love all the lights and this year we took the train ride.  Maybe next year we'll do a carriage ride. You can also visit Santa, see a model train setup, get yummy concession food, and do a little shopping. We had dinner at Firehouse Subs then a funnel cake while we waited for the train. It really is a lot of fun and we will come back, year after year, while we live in the area.

Then there were cookies to bake.  The girls love to help cut the cookies (eat dough) and decorate them (eat sprinkles).  We had some beautifully (over)decorated cookies this year but that just made them yummier!

Matthew turned 7 months old and got his first bloody nose.  I don't think you can see it in this picture but he bonked himself pretty good.  Face planted right into the kitchen floor!  Poor kid.  Doesn't seem to be bothering him now ...

We did have some nice Texas Winter weather so we spent some time outside. Matthew finally got to swing in the big swing in the backyard.

Emmy was not happy that Matthew was in "her" swing.

... So we set up camp and had a Backyard Cookie Picnic!!
Matthew tried as hard as he could to get the cookie tin open. The girls were very protective of it.

So Bubby and I just hung out on the blanket while the girls ran off all the sugar.

Hope to update with pics of Christmas soon.  Maybe even pics from the girls' birthdays.  Lots to do! Lots to do.  Of course, I would rather be playing games on the iPad but they have become preschool toys around here. At least they're not killing each other right now while they dress Barbie and make cupcakes.
