Yeah yeah so it's been a few weeks. Sue me. :) I finally got some time at the computer. We've been really busy lately. The girls are still not huge fans of going to school. Em starts to cry before we get in her classroom, which upsets Megan. Moo's teachers say she's talking more and smiling a little, which she hadn't been doing at all, poor girl. She still doesn't want me to leave her but I think she settles down a little faster now. I can't wait for the day that they go in without a peep - I'd be delighted if they would tell me to leave - but I think I'll be waiting for a while. I have noticed some differences in them though. We went to the mall last week and both of them just took off to play, even though it was crowded. Usually they hang out with me and don't want to leave my side so that was huge!! I saw Em walk up to some girl with a heart on her shirt and say, "Heart!" while poking the poor little girl in the chest. Megan didn't totally freeze when other kids got too close so I know school is helping them. I just wish I didn't feel like I'm leaving them to the wolves every Tuesday and Thursday.
Megan's class is the Bees. The teachers made shirts for everyone to wear on the first day. Megan loves Bees so it worked out great!
If you don't know Megan, this is how she sucks her fingers. It's her version of thumb sucking or pacifiers. We like to call it the "suck and cover". She's been doing this since she was about 4-5 months old. It's especially cute when she's smiling behind her arm, which she's doing in this pic.
Em wouldn't stand still for a pic but I like this one that shows how big her bag and nap mat are next to her.
Walking past the playground. All smiles! They have no idea I'm going to leave them there for the day.
The teachers had PlayDoh out for Megan's class.
It didn't distract her from the fact that we left.
Em's classroom. I think she was excited she got to play without Megan taking stuff away!
At least she was comfortable enough with her surroundings to take a nap.
This is how she was when I arrived to pick them up.
It took a while for me to wake her up too!
Em eating a celebratory First Day of School Taco!
