Pregos!

This pic is from Abby's 3rd Birthday Party on August 4th. It was HOT and windy outside but all the kids loved the splash park. Christy is having her little Lexi on October 2 and Aimee is due with her little surprise October 1st! It's not the most flattering picture - I just look like the fat girl in the middle - but that's OK. I know there's a baby in there! We're three of the four reasons our girls' night out dinners are a little less rowdy ... Sprite, water, Root Beer. whoohoo! yippee!

Anyways. Speaking of looking pregnant. I actually wore a classic tie-in-the-back maternity shirt to Mass yesterday and it really made me look huge!! I felt a little self conscious as I walked past people to go to the bathroom (yes, before mass was actually over). It seemed like everyone I passed was looking at the huge belly. I don't think I'm crazy. I'm pretty sure they were looking. Then again, it is a Catholic church and having babies is what we do, right?

We registered on Saturday and I'm not sure my feet have recovered. We were like two idiots running around the store. Me with my list and James with the scanner just scanning anything that he thought was cute. Luckily I knew I was going to be able to make changes online when we got home. Babies R Us was kind of fun getting all the big things but then we went to Target and the experience was just horrible. We were already tired and grumpy and the employees at the customer service desk were absolutely brainless. Again, James had the scanner, which is why you'll see Miller Lite on our baby registry! HAH! Later that night I just did a small registry at Pottery Barn Kids online. They have some cute stuff that I couldn't pass up. I could still need your suggestions though because I can make changes!! A lot of things were based on Consumer Reports - our little Megan is going to be such a nerd.

Question: Some lady at BRU said we shouldn't bother with the Travel System. You know, the big stroller with the car seat that goes in it. She said it's too huge and really inconvenient. We decided she's crazy and went with it anyhow but anyone have any thoughts on the issue? I mean, I can see how it would be a pain in the ass but it still seems like the easiest way to take an infant just about anywhere. Besides, isn't the big cute stroller like some sort of badge of honor amongst mothers?

I've been really long-winded lately. OH - have to share this good news too though! My mom officially listed her house on the market on Thursday, had her first showing on Saturday, and accepted the offer yesterday. Sort of makes you second guess the pricing strategy!! WOW! The people who want the house want to close by the end of the month and my mom's new house won't be completed until December!! My mom will be homeless for a while, probably living out of her motorhome for a couple months! We offered to rent her a room for $500 per month! HEY - we have a kid on the way! HAH! I'm just amazed that it went so quickly. Our experience in Pearland wasn't so great so I am really surprised by this quick sale! YAY! So keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly with the inspection and closing process!

yes, yes, yes- get the travel system!! It is SO convienient for carrying your baby everywhere with you! Usually they fall asleep in the car so if you didn't have one that popped right out you would have to wake them up. We carried B&B in them until probably 8 months, it rocked. :-D

we would even let our kids sleep in it in the house. Why wake a sleeping baby?
