ho hum ..

I really enjoy blogging but the title of the blog really says it all. I just don't have anything going on to talk about. I could complain about my job, who couldn't? I could complain about my husband but, in all honestly, there's been nothing to complain about there lately. I could complain about the weather but who really cares? I could complain about the Mavericks trying to lose in the first round of the NBA Playoffs or how the NL Central is totally flip flopped and the Astros and the (icky!) Cardinals have no business being TIED for last place but I'm guessing nobody cares about that. I haven't tried out any new recipes lately so there's not much to share. I've been so lazy about cooking lately that James is probably complaining about me!!

Over the weekend we did some work in the yard. We have a pretty soggy area in our backyard right by our gate where the grass just won't grow. Water puddles there when it rains and I think it gets double coverage from the sprinklers. So we decided to build a little pathway from the patio to the driveway. We really can't figure out what we were thinking when we had the patio concrete done because we really should have had them connect the patio to the driveway. Whatever. So we had to dig out the dirt (err...CLAY) and level it a little. We just did stepping stones with some pebbles in between. I wasn't sure if it was going to look all 1980's but it turned out pretty good and actually the pebbles look like our front aggregate sidewalk and the colors tie in to our back patio. It will definitely serve it's purpose and I hope it will stay put together and not end up scattered all over the yard! Also this weekend we ordered our Tuff Shed. James is so excited about this one but I have to go get the building permit today. Yes, we have to have a building permit to have the shed installed in our back yard. Whatever. We absolutely can't wait to get all the lawn crap out of the garage. Hopefully there will be room for our painting supplies and all the other little leftover pieces from various home improvement weekends.

Not only do I have to go to the city offices today I have to attend the Homeowners Association meeting tonight. The last one we had (they've only had them yearly so far) James went and he actually walked out while the meeting was still going on ... more than two hours after it started. Sounds like some of the A-Phi meetings I attended ... maybe even ran. I really dislike some of the people involved in running our HOA and now that our neighborhood is almost complete we (homeowners) are taking over the HOA so now they really will be in charge. Pushy ladies who have nothing better to do with their time than tell everyone what our house should look like and how our way-too-high-dues should be spent. This should be fun.

I guess I filled some space on my blog, if nothing else. Seriously, we lead such dull lives. It's really kinda pathetic but we like it that way. I wish I had a cool vacation planned or a big exciting project in the works but I got nada.
